Jonglei citizens face human rights abuses

Jonglei state citizens are confronting many human rights abuses including activities of David Yau Yau and inter-tribal condlicts.
 
South Sudan Human Right Commission’s deputy chairperson Biel Jock Thich on Wednesday said citizens’ rights were worsen by intertribal conflicts, Bakhita Radio reported.
 
He added that floods made some areas inaccessible in Jonglei and people are in dire need of humanitarian aid.
 
Mr Jock appealed to NGOs to rescue the situation of the suffering people in various parts of Jonglei state.
 
He said prisons all over the country were overcrowded and justice to inmates was delayed.
 
The deputy chairperson made the remarks during a forum to promote human rights in the country.
 
The forum brought together Vice President James Wani Igga, national and state dignitaries and civil society groups.
