Eastern Equatoria state enrolled 200 youths as police officers.

State Police Commissioner Major General Henry Danima Odu told the press on Tuesday that the new group of trainees is expected to portray good image of the police force, Emmanuel Radio reported.

He lamented that the earlier trained groups tarnished police force image before the public.

Major General Danima disclosed that the national government set a five-year programme to transform the police force.

The state minister for Local Government, Law Enforcement and Wildlife Conservation Charles Ambrose Lokonoi is expected to visit the police training centre.

The police recruits are expected to undergo six months intensive training.
