Wau Urban Water Corporation in Western Bahr el Ghazal is facing financial constraints and failing to deliver clean water to residents.

The Corporation Director-General Joseph Okello told Voice of Hope last week that the national corporation instructed the state branches to manage revenues locally.

He said out of 800 less than 200 customers paid their monthly subscription fee of 75 South Sudanese Pounds each.

Mr Okello revealed that government institutions failed to pay their subscription fees and that due to unpaid dues, the Corporation cannot pay the private contractor to supply fuel for the operation.

He added that the private contractor needs 64 thousands Pounds monthly to supply fuel.

The director warned that water flow will stop any time if customers do not pay their dues in time.
