East African countries agreed to extend their electricity to South Sudan.

South Sudan Foreign Affair Minister Barnaba Marial Benjamin on Monday told the press in Juba that Uganda and Kenya agreed to supply South Sudan with their electricity, Bakhita Radio reported.

He said the move was to strengthen bilateral relations on the multi-billion dollars infrastructure development in the East African region.

Dr Marial said he discussed with his Ugandan counterpart Sam Kutesa on the order issued by the Interior minister banning foreigners from owning small businesses.

He said he told Kutesa that most Ugandans misunderstood the order.

Dr Marial said the law of every country does not allow foreigners to operate small businesses, which nationals survived on them.

He confirmed that President Kiir will visit Khartoum on Tuesday to hold talks with his Sudanese counterpart Omar Hassan Al Bashir on cooperation agreements.
