South Sudan welcomes new special envoy

South Sudan welcomed United State President Barak Obama’s appointment of the new special envoy to the two countries.
 
Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesperson Mawien Makol Arik told CRN on Thursday that the government was delighted to receive Donald Booth.
 
Ambassador Makol believes Booth will bring South Sudan and Sudan together to create peaceful atmosphere.
 
He said Ambassador Donald would be helpful due to his diplomatic experience extensive career in Africa.
 
Ambassador Mawien described Booth as a person of integrity, diplomatic courage, humility and virtue.
 
He said Booth would be instrumental in bringing peace to the two countries, hoping that Sudan will understand him.
 
Ambassador Mawien believes the appointment of the special envoy was timely as it coincided with Abyei Referendum arrangements.
 
He urged the special envoy to help the conduct of Abyei Referendum as scheduled.
