Chemiri Chapel celebrates Saint Monica Day

A big number of faithful on Tuesday gathered at Chemiri Chapel at Amdurdu Administrative unit in Nuba Mountains to celebrate Saint Monica Day.
 
Fr Francis Angelo said St Monica was born in a Christian family, lived a more organized and good Christian life, Voice of Peace reported.
 
He said St Monica knew how to be faithful to her husband  and that women should take her example. 
 
Fr Angelo said Christian doctrine teaches that when a person married a non Christian she has to raise children in a Christian way.
 
He said St Monica persevered and changed his son Augustine from bad to a good leader.
 
Fr Angelo said St Monica converted her husband and her son to become one of the greatest theologians of the Catholic Church.
 
He invited all Christians from around Amdurdu Administrative unit to join prayers for peace in the world, Africa and particularly the Sudan.
 
Chemiri, one of the small villages in Amdurdu Administrative Unit was praised for its rapid growing number of Christians.
