Kenya Primary Certificate Examinations of KCPE candidates coaching continue amidst education challenges in Nuba Mountains.
Regional Education Officer Kuku Iddris Kuku said all the ten coaching centers started in spite of the ongoing war.
He explained that Heiban has five coaching centres, two in Umdurein, one in Delami one in Delenj and one centre in Legawa.
Mr Kuku added that there are 904 candidates sitting for the Kenya Primary Certificate Examinations this year.
He said the Education office trained 52 tutors to coach the candidates.
Mr Kuku said candidates’ feeding remained a major problem because their plan to improve food distribution failed because n international NGO was unable to support them.
He said coaching will run for three months.
Education in the Nuba Mountains region of South Kordofan faces many difficulties since the outbreak of war in 2011.
