Yei River County recorded 25 road accidents before, during and after the second independence anniversary celebrations.
Traffic Police Director Lieutenant Colonel Charles Michael Wala said the crimes committed from July 1 to 19 included one death, grievous injuries, simples injuries, traffic violations and over speeding, Easter Radio reported.
He said ten people who sustained serious injuries in road accidents were admitted to Yei Civil Hospital.
Lieutenant Colonel Wala added that one motorcycle was completely destroyed an accident.
He said seven cases are under police investigation.
Traffic Police Inspector Andrew Kenyi said Yei town accident rates were high because people drive too fast.
General Kenyi said Yei town authorities will soon deploy police to monitor over speeding in the congested streets and put bumps and sign posts with speed limits.
