The Catholic Bishop of Wau told citizens to abandon ‘names’ which create tribalism and call themselves South Sudanese.

Bishop Rudolf Deng Majak was talking on Monday when Christians and Muslims gathered at Wau Peace Square for the National Reconciliation Prayer, Voice of Hope reported.

He called on citizens to identify themselves only as South Sudanese and not through tribal names.

Bishop Deng explained that reconciliation is a long way process that will be extended to payams and bomas.

The Catholic Bishop of Wau stressed that ‘this is an opportunity given by God so that we get out of our little ties.’
