The Catholic Bishop of Wau criticized the attitude of those who do little work for the country and demand more services from the Government.
Bishop Rudolf Deng Majak said independence was not a goal but a means for the deliberation of minds so that citizens engaged in meaningful nation building, Voice of Hope reported.
He said for South Sudan to develop, citizens should work hard, drink less, and reduce corruption and tribalism.
Bishop Deng pointed out that citizens complained a lot but did very little work for the nation.
He advised South Sudanese to stop asking more from their Government, and do more productive work for nation building.
The Bishop said people are cultivating less than before because they waste a lot of time and energy expecting the Government to provide all services.
He underlined that nation building needs partnership between citizens and the government.
The Catholic Bishop of Wau made these remarks on the eve of South Sudan’s second independence anniversary.
Today, Western Bahr El-Ghazal joined the rest of the states to celebrate Independence Day.
