Communities of Bagidi village in Ezo County started reopening the 50-kilometre road linking Ezo to Yangiri Payam.
Rehabilitation Committee Secretary Pascal Frederick told Anisa Radio that about 372 people registered their names in June to work on the road every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
He said all roads in Bagidi were closed in the past years due to the Lord’s Resistance Army’s atrocities in the area.
Mr Frederick said many IDPs began to return home during the dry season last year to restore their livelihoods and resume cultivation.
He said World Food Program promised to support the people with food for work through the office of the Emergency Response in the Catholic Diocese of Tombura Yambio.
