Heiban County Commissioner in Nuba Mountains faces some challenges from local leaders and lack of rain.
Mubarak Bolis Tutu said some local chiefs were appointed without consultation from the local people.
He explained that they are incompetent in carrying out their duties.
Mr Bolis stressed that there are some local leaders who are incapable of settling disputes in the villages due to lack of experience in leadership.
The commissioner lamented that some areas in Heiban County were experiencing shortage of rain.
He said people in Lera repeatedly planted food crops due to inadequate rainfall while in some parts weeds took over the farmland.
Heiban County Commissioner concluded that if the situation persists the county is likely to suffer from hunger next year.
