The National Constitutional Review Commission on Saturday launched in Juba a civic education campaign.

Commission chairperson Akolda Maan Tier told the press that the constitutional review process delayed due to lack of civic education, Bakhita Radio reported.

He explained that the commission overcame the biggest challenge after USAID and UNMISS promised to cover transportation and accommodation for civic educators.

Prof. Tier cited main challenges including the rain, use of local languages and insecurity across the country.

He added that the Commission will deal with all the challenges amicably.

The National Constitutional Review Commission was given two more years to finalize its work.

Lack of funds affected the Commission’s operations until now.

The civic education campaign was launched under the theme “A people driven constitution is the foundation for democracy and good governance.”
