The Committee for the coronation and re-installation of the Azande Kingdom on Monday officially handed over receipts of the resource mobilizers in Yambio County.

The stamped receipts aimed to legalise the collection of resources and ensure transparency and confidence between the committee and the citizens, Anisa Radio reported.

Paramount chief Wilson Peni Rikito urged the mobilizers to make more efforts and ensure that the event comes to effect as planned.

He called upon youths, elders, women, church leaders, chiefs and all well-wishers to contribute in cash and in kind towards the historical event.

Sultan Rikito noted that the Azande king’s coronation is non political.

Yambio County Commissioner Kuzee John Elia, who heads the committee at county level, said all coronation’s arrangements were in place.

The Azande kingdom disappeared when the British killed King Gbudue in 1905.
