A militia leader whose group was fighting the government for the past two years in Upper Nile state responded positively to the recent presidential amnesty.
General Johnson Oliny abandoned his revolt and expressed readiness to join peace process in order to contribute to nation building.SPLA spokesperson Colonel Phillip Aguer told reporters on Tuesday that the rebel group was already received by SPLA forces in Lul and Kodok in Upper Nile state.
Col Aguer said SPLA chief of General Staff James Hoth Mai welcomed General Oliny in a telephone conversation.
He said the militia leader came with 38 vehicles and weapons they got in Sudan.
