The state minister of Cooperative and Rural Development in Central Equatoria urged the citizens of Yei River County to maintain the peace.
Michael Tongun said peaceful stay would promote the growth of cooperative societies, savings and credits cooperatives and farmers cooperative union, Easter Radio reported.Minister Michael also added that his ministry would soon open state cooperative bank.
Yei River County Commissioner Juma David Augustine encouraged the people to pray for Peace in the country.
He said the citizens should make Yei a peaceful place to live in and that they should make central Equatoria state a symbol of unity in South Sudan.
The two speakers made the remarks at Christ the King Cathedral in Yei on Sunday.
