The Auxiliary Bishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba planted a tree next to the new Church of St Kizito in Munuki, Juba.
Santo Loku Pio said the tree symbolizes the growth of the Church and life within the Church, Radio Bakhita reported.
He said the tree is being planted on rocky ground to ensure that the church will continue to exist even through hardships.
Bishop Loku explained that he planted the tree next to the church under construction to ensure that the Church will grow like the tree planted next to it.
He planted the tree next to the main entrance of the Church, parish priests of St Theresa’s Cathedral and St Kizito also planted some trees on the same day on the feast of St Kizito one of the Uganda martyrs burnt to death in 1886 in Namugongo, Uganda.
