UN Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS celebrated the International Peacekeepers Day in Wau on Wednesday.
A UN senior representative read the message from the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, Voice of Hope reported.Mr Ki-moon in his message called upon all the nations to stop the killings.
He said the International Peacekeepers Day was an opportunity to raise awareness about new developments in the field and honour the blue helmets who lost lives in service over the past years.
Western Bahr El Ghazal Advisor on Social Services Livio Gelego Baharara appreciated UNMISS work in providing health facilities, trainings, education and roads constructions.
He called on everybody to cooperate with the peacekeepers in all fields for the benefit of the state and the country in general.
The ceremony was marked with cultural dances from Luo of Kenya and Chinese Kung Fu demonstration.
