The Mayor Juba City Council and that of Bor Municipality on Saturday signed a memorandum of understanding to tighten relations.
Mohammed Al Hajj Babala said Jonglei state is the first to sign a MoU with Juba City Council, Bakhita Radio reported.He said Juba City Council so far had signed several MoUs with Djibouti, Istanbul and Nairobi and it is on the way to sign more.
Mr Babala added that the MoU between Juba and Bor will foster unity among the people of South Sudan.
Bor Municipality Mayor Nhial Majak Nhial said the signing of the MoU signified the commitment that the authorities of Juba City Council to help the people of Bor.
He said he thought to sign MoU with Juba to benefit from the experience and the knowledge of Juba Municipality on city management.
The Mayor added that the MoU will focus on technical assistance toÊ uplift standards of Bor town.
Mr Majak invited the authority of Juba City Council to go to Bor and train the Municipal Guards.
He also called on Bor graduates to apply for positions in the Municipality.
Mr Majak invited investors to put money in education and health sectors.
