Most journalists want to dialogue with security in order to reach a common ground in serving the citizens.
Juba Monitor Editor-in-chief Alfred Taban said journalists are not happy with what national security does to them.He explained that if the security organs have some grievances against the media practitioners they should clear them.
Mr Taban described the dialogue between journalists and security as critical and the media bills are being tabled to put an end to the misunderstanding between security organs and the journalists.
The chief complained to the police spokesperson James Monday Enoka for is eight-hour detention and interrogation two weeks ago.
He said the police should not arrest journalists but only take information from journalists in their offices.
Mr Taban said it is not fair for the police to come with guns and arrest journalists.
The senior journalist was talking during the two-day discussion “How the world views Africa: the role of African journalists in forming the narrative” on Wednesday.
