Health officials managing health facilities in Nuba Mountains are updating their diagnosing skills.
Medical director Alamin Osman launched the training on Monday.Dr Osman said the event intends to bridge the gap of medical training since the war broke out in June 2011.
He added that the participants are learning new ways to manage diseases and drugs.
Dr Osman said the workshop will be followed by on-job-training and field supervision.
He called on the community to be patient since the war is affecting health services.
The Director warned particularly pregnant women to attend antenatal care in order to deliver their children safely.
Makbul Kharaseed spoke on behalf of the Administrative Unit of Umdurdu.
He said many people are psychologically affected but they may need more counseling than medicines.
Fifty-four people are attending the workshop.
Dr Osman said they expected 80 participants and maybe some were still arriving.
