Two war torn regions in Sudan are hosting an international football competition next June and July.
The Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations or CECAFA Secretary General Nicholas Musonye announced that the Kagame Club Cup will be played in Darfur and South Kordofan between June 18 and July 2.“For us to bring CECAFA to North Darfur and South Kordofan, demonstrates our continued desire to spread the message of peace through the beautiful game,” Mr Musonye said.
He added he was surprised with the enthusiasm people demonstrated when he visited El Fasher and Kadugli.
Mr Musonye promised to bring the CECAFA cup to Somalia in the near future.
