The catholic diocese of Vincenza, in Italy, on Thursday held a mass in memory of late Bishop Akio Johnson Mutek of Torit to pray for his eternal rest to strengthen the communities of the Catholic Diocese of Torit.
Leonsio Omina Lokwormoi told Radio Emmanuel that several priests turned up to concelebrate the memorial mass at Vincenza cathedral.Fr Omina said at the end that the congregation met in the parish hall to share words and testimonies about the life of late Bishop Akio.
Mark Opere, the official representative of the Catholic Diocese of Torit to Europe and America, presided over the mass.
Bishop Akio died suddenly last month in a Nairobi hospital after a long history of kidney problems.
