Citizens in Juba expressed mixed views on the announcement of a new brewery welcome by the Government of Central Equatoria.
Tony Blair phoned to Bakhita Radio’s Wake up Juba morning show to say that he was disgusted with the announcement. He said Central Equatoria Government should attract factories that produce valuable materials, including books and pencils, instead of contributing for the failure in development of the country.
Laku, another caller, said the brewery should not increase drinking habits but would provide work for the youth and revenue for the state.
A team from East Africa Breweries Company met on Tuesday with Deputy Governor Manase Lomole Waya to hold preliminary talks about the establishment of a beer factory in Juba.
