INTER-SECONDARY SCHOOL COMPETITION ENDS IN MOROBO

Hundreds of people gathered at Morobo Freedom Square to follow the final Inter-secondary School Competition that saw two schools going home with trophies.

Excel Secondary School won the football match trophy beatingÊKanyara Secondary School two nil.

Kanyara girls’ beat St Samson girls six points to two on the netball game.

Morobo County Commissioner Moses Simon Soro said football was a major entertainment and a money generating sport in most of the world and it helped people stay physically fit.

He called on the community to encourage youth to be active in sports and get away from heavy drinking.

The commissioner thanked all those who participated in the inter-secondary school competition and encouraged all schools in the county to take sports seriously.

Education Director Hakim Alfred Justo said the competition was to improve the talents of the students.

He added that football was the most important tool to promote peaceful coexistence among the people.

Mr Hakim praised students for maintaining discipline and good relationships with their competitors and giving good example to others in the county.
