A new Polio campaign kicked off in Tonj South County of Warrap State on Tuesday.
County supervisor James Mabior Deng told Don Bosco Radio that the target group for Polio vaccination was children under five years of age.He said vaccinators started in Tonj Town and would move to the surrounding payams and bomas over the next four days.
Mr Deng urged all parents and guardians with children aged bellow five year to ensure that they were vaccinated.
He told parents and guardians that the vaccine was not harmful to the children and advise them not to fear getting the vaccine for their children.
Mr Deng added that the polio vaccinators would go house to house and to market places.
He called on all parents to cooperate with vaccinators to get their children protected against the crippling and life-threatening virus.
