South Sudan’s ruling party presented its economic policy to gird a new approach towards economic development in the country.
The document that was in production since 2011 was officially launched by the SPLM Secretary General Pagan Amum, Bakhita Radio reported.A number of dignitaries including the Central Bank Governor, and national finance and information ministers were present at the launch.
Mr Amum told the attendance that his party will use the document as a basis to develop a workable five-year economic policy plan to be part of the programme for the elections of 2015.
Mr Amum called upon party members and the Government to use the document to develop concrete programmes with action plans for the purpose of industrialize the national economy.
The 319-page document included issues of Gross Domestic Product, national income, income per capita and national imports and exports.
Chairman of South Sudan Economic Association Isaac Bior drafted the document.
