Butchers in Tonj South County of Warrap state are complaining about the high price cows are sold in the local markets.

Head butcher Matoc Ater told Don Bosco Radio that cows and oxen were very expensive forcing the traders to increase the price of meat in the market.

He said one kilo of meat with bone now costs 16 pounds and without bone 18.

Mr Ater said butchers were increasing the price by two pounds to cover for the rise on cow and oxen prices.

He urged the people not to blame the butchers but the cows’ sellers for the hike in the price of meat.
