SPLM SETS STRATEGY TO STRENGTHEN RURAL BASE

The ruling party has started laying a strategy for building its rural base in every corner of the country ahead of the 2015 elections.

SPLM-Eastern Equatoria organized a two-day training for Women League to empower members to to measure the strength of the party at county, payam and boma levels, Radio Emmanuel reported.

Council of the States member Anisia Achien said the training aimed at assessing the strength of the SPLM in the ten states and 97 counties.

SPLM-Eastern Equatoria Vice Chairperson Okanyi Felix Remidjio said training of the Women League flagged off the process to restructure and reorganize the SPLM.

He said during phase one cadres will assess the party structures on the ground.

Mr Okanyi said similar exercises will be done for the Youth League and the party mainstream.

He called on the Women League to follow the values and principle of the SPLM for the public to see them as members of a disciplined party.
