The medical charity MSF-Belgium is planning to send back its international personnel to Pibor during this week.

MSF head of mission Stefano Zannini told Bakhita Radio that due to high insecurity in Pibor the mission decided to pull out its international medical staff.

Mr Zannini said MSF-Belgium is planning to send back some part of the staff by Friday.

He added that some national staff took refuge in the bush with their families after the situation got worse while others are still giving services to civilians who are brought to the hospital in Pibor.

Mr Zannini said the civilians in Pibor have a very big need of medical care and food aid.

He added that MSF Belgium is the only medical operator in Pibor since 2005 but the high levels of violence in the county hinder their work.

Mr Zannini said the mission on Friday will send six international medical staff to Pibor to work in the areas of security, logistics and medical services together with the nationals who remained in the hospital.
