Yei River Country will have some biogas latrines to generate electricity with the methane gas they produce.
GIZ, or Germany International Cooperation, is building the latrines, Radio Easter reported.GIZ technical advisor Agnesca Samole explained that the construction of the public latrines improves sanitation and supplies electricity around Yei Freedom Square and surroundings.
Ms Samole said GIZ is also constructing water tanks and points to improve water distribution in the county by April.
She announced also the construction of a sewage disposal.
GIZ is also building latrines in three schools.
Ms Samole’s revelations came during a feasibility survey at Yei River County headquarters and the prison section on Thursday.
