Prisoners in the Juba Central Prison lamented poor justice system in South Sudan.

Cosmas Wale Jacky said there is a lot of injustice in the judiciary system of South Sudan because of poor verdict they give against the accused, Bakhita Radio reported.

He revealed that sometimes four to seven prisoners are sentenced to capital punishment over the death of one person.

Mr Wale said in some instances a prisoner is sentenced and also asked to compensate the aggrieved party.

Marko Malou complained of poor the system because issues that could be dealt in the police station are forwarded to the judges who immediately sentence the accused into the prison.

Mr Malou said South Sudan will not progress with this kind of judiciary system.

Both men urged the President of the Republic to look into the country’s judiciary system and rescue the situation.

They said judges normally do not listen to the accused after the plaintiff has talked.

South Sudan voted against capital punishment a month ago along with other 110 countries across the world.
