The annual Diocesan Youth Congress is starting on Thursday at the Holy Family Cathedral in Rumbek.
Fr. Andrea Osman Okello said the Diocesan Apostolic Administrator, Fr. Fernando Colombo will preside over the opening Eucharistic celebration at 7 PM at Bishop Compound.Fr. Okello said the whole Diocese has many challenges and that lack of a bishop became a main problem.
He called upon the faithful to pray for the Diocese and the youth for the smooth running of the congress.
Fr Okello appealed to the youth to have peace, unity among one another and trust in God.
He said the congress under the theme: “Faith in Jesus opens Doors”, brings together the eleven Parishes of Rumbek Diocese.
The youth congress will focus on vocation, justice and peace during three-day event that closes on Sunday, December 23.
