The national ministry of Commerce, Industry and investment has on Wednesday opened an office at Juba International Airport to facilitate international trade between South Sudan and the rest of the World.
Simon Nyang, Undersecretary at the ministry said the office is opened to inspect the standard of the goods being imported into the country and check the validity of the license of the business people trading with South Sudan.Mr Nyang explained that his trade office is at the Airport not to tax but to check on licenses and standards of goods.
He clarified that his office could only penalized traders who have no licenses and those who import sub-standard goods.
The ministry has similar offices at several check points at the borders including Kaya, Nimule and Nadapal.
