A gang on Saturday attacked Lomuku residential area in Yei River County and burnt to ashes 28 houses.
Paul Yoane Bonju representing Yei River County in the National Legislative Assembly told CRN that the incident took place in the morning where 27 houses ablaze without losing human life.He said on Sunday night one house was also burnt to ashes bring the total of the houses to 28.
Mr Yoane added that the he has raised a point of information to the parliament on Monday concerning the incident.
He urged the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs to rush to Yei and provide assistance to the people who lost their properties.
Mr YoaneÊ also urged the ministry of Interior to take the situation serious and visit Yei because the incident happened after nine people were killed in Wau last week.
The Commissioner of Yei River County, Juma Augustine has appealed to the community to help in tracing the gang for possible arrest.
