SSUNDE CALLS ON GOVERNMENT TO PROTECT CIVILIANS

The South Sudanese Network for Democratic Election (SSuNDE) on Friday had called on the government to strengthen on the security to avoid rampant killing of the civilians.

SSuNDE chairperson Lony Ruot told the journalists in Juba that the government should take with serious concern the current security situation that threatens lives of the citizens.

He said the rampant killing in Juba town is scaring the lives of the citizens.

Mr Ruot added that the killing of the civilian in Wau had scared the whole country and that the government needs to take serious action as Christmas approaches.

Mr Rout said SSuNDE appreciate President Initiative to form independence committee to investigate the killing of the journalist and the Wau protestors.

He called on the government to strategically deployed police permanently within resident areas while urging Interior ministry to develop a comprehensive plan to step up security within the resident.

Mr Ruot called on all the citizens in the country to cooperate with the police to help identify the wrong doers in the community.
