SOUTH SUDANESE GIRLS LEADERSHIP TRAINING CONCLUDES IN NARUS

The leadership and computer skills week-long training for South Sudanese girls in Narus has concluded on Friday.

A 24-year old Deborah Nyacek Makur from Lakes State said she will try hard to put to practice the kills, she acquired.

20-year old Almas Vicky Wezily from Western Equatoria State appreciated the team building activities that involved games, quizzes and puzzles, confirming that she enjoyed all the events during the week.

19-year old Alice Pipoma Liria from Eastern Equatoria State acknowledged Mercy Beyond Borders (MBB) initiative in planning for this training, citing the benefit she has gained in computer during the five-day workshop.

The two facilitators expressed satisfaction of realizing the plans for the training, acknowledging the giftedness of the girls.

MBB Scholarship Program Coordinator, Sr. Edvine Tumwesigye of Mary Mother of the Church said everything went as planned and that even the logistical challenges of bringing the girls from different parts of South Sudan were overcome.

The computer instructor, Bro. Dan Emmanuel of St. Martin de Porres Brothers, commended the girls for their intellectual abilities and that the girls made good use of the week in Narus.

The training concluded on Friday evening with entertainment, speeches and a prize-giving session that took the form of a lottery that gave all MBB girls present a chance of winning an award.

Organized by Mercy Beyond Borders (MBB), the training drew together 49 beneficiaries of the NGO’s scholarship program.

MBB has partnered with girls and women in South Sudan since 2009.
