The national Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation on Thursday inaugurated a water point supply in Kator Payam, Juba County in Central Equatoria State.
The project that began in August was constructed at Lologo Residential area of Kator Payam.Addressing the occasion, Cham Jok, Managing Director of Urban Water Corporation said they would sustain water points.
Zhang Yi, Chinese Economic and Commercial Counsellor, explained that the agreement includes eight boreholes, 50 water tanks, pumps and generators among others.
He said the Lologo well is capable of supplying 600,000 litters of water per day to at least 30,000 people.
The project was implemented by the Chinese Tianjin Huakan Cooperation Limited funded by the Chinese Government.
There was no mention how much money was used on the water point and it is not clear whether the Chinese Government would complete the other water projects.
