STATE GOVERNMENT COMMITS TO PEACEFUL DIALOGUE

Western Bahr El-Ghazal state Government has expressed commitment to peaceful dialogue on Wau County headquarter relocation.

The government earlier regretted for all the losses and damages caused during the weekend protest in Wau.

Alfred Derik Uya, state minister for Information told reporters that Wau weekend protest has culminated several losses and damages which have sadden the government.

He the state government has formed an ad hoc committee to investigate on the losses and perpetrators behind the incident.

Mr. Derik revealed that from the 51 trucks detained by protest about ten of them belonging to both national and international traders were burned after they were detained for five days.

He explained that protesters burned the trucks after the police fired life bullets on Wau-Yambio road leaving two dead.

Mr. Derik disclosed that the security personnel intervened when protest was getting out of control and the state police commissioner failed to quench.
