Plots distribution to residents of Gumbo in Rejaf Payam will continue after it was stopped due to split in Gumbo sub-committee.
The decision came after the Tokiman Development Community, Rejaf Payam administration and Gumbo sub-committee met Juba County Commissioner, Stephen Wani who ordered the lottery system of plot allocation to continue.Director of Rajaf Payam, Michael Francis told Bakhita Radio on Wednesday that some members of Gumbo sub-committee work for their personal interests instead of common good of all the people of the area.
He promised to follow the lottery system of plots allocation instead of door to door system.
Mr Francis revealed that majority of people in Gumbo have been intimidated by a small group that worked for their personal interests.
He warned that those dragging the process backward would face the full force of the law.
At least 22 people supported door to door plots allocation against more than 3,000 who stand for lottery system agreed by the Payam and the Commissioner.
11 Bomas of Rejaf Payam have so far completed their process of land allocation except Gumbo which remains an obstacle to the Payam.
