SOUTH SUDAN TO INTRODUCE HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION

The President of the Republic on Monday said South Sudan is going to introduce Human Rights education in the general education curricula to make it a reality in the new country.

Presidential Adivsor Legal Affairs, Telar Ring read President Salva Kiir Mayardit speech quoting the President as saying, introducing human rights in basic education is an achievable goal.

He said the General Education and Instruction Ministry has a mandate to implement human rights education policy.

President Kiir directed the south Sudan Human Rights Commission to identify necessary human rights values and principles and incorporate them into the curricula.

He said it will take time and resources to introduce human rights in the society.

The Presidential Adivsor was reading President’s Speech on Human Rights Day at the celebration of Human Rights Day at Nyakuron Cultural Centre in Juba.
