South Sudan Civil Society and other organizations have expressed concerned on the stalled Constitution review process.
This came while concluding a two-day workshop in Juba to address the constitutional review process on Tuesday.Samuel Dong Luak, Secretary-General of the South Sudan Law Society, a Civil Society representative in the Constitution Review told CRN that the commission has not started implementing its mandate since its appointment on January 9 2012.
He said the workshop was concerned with the extension of the mandate to January 9 2013, so civic education and consultation of the citizens can start.
Mr. Dong explained that the workshop aimed at finding a way out of the deadlock as the process is a very important opportunity to unite the people of South Sudan.
The workshop that brought together over 15 different organizations was organized by IKV Pax Christi, a Netherlands church-related organization.
