Juba University is looking for new sources to improve its library services as a five-year contract draws to an end in December.
Juba University Library Automation Project or JULAP was launched in 2008 to digitalize books and prepare librarians, Bakhita Radio reported.JULAP coordinator Faiza Ahmed said in five years the project was able to automate the library into electronic resources to facilitate students’ researches.
She added that the project also gave some scholarships for long term university training of librarians abroad.
Mrs Ahmed said the University of Juba is now looking for another project that can sustain and make the library move ahead.
She said the project Educating Librarians in South Sudan is running for another year in the universities of Juba, Bahr El Ghazal and Upper Nile.
JULAP was run in partnership of five institutions including Oslo and Makerere universities.
