Non oil revenue is now providing 13 percent of the national budgeted expenditures instead of the two percent before the oil shutdown in January.

Finance Minister Kosti Manibe Ngai said his ministry is now collecting 60 to 70 million pounds every month compared with some ten million before the centralization of taxes collection.

Mr Manibe revealed that the quarterly execution of the budget is at almost 21 percent, four points below predictions.

He blamed the belated approval of the budget and cash shortage for the lower execution.

Mr Manibe was speaking to the press after presenting the quarterly budget execution to the National Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.
