The authorities in Rumbek Central County on Monday formed a fact-finding committee to investigate the causes behind the recent fighting between two communities.

Rumbek Central County Executive Director Ambrose Akech Roong told Good News Radio that the committee should find what led to a recent clash that killed scores and left many others injured.

He asked the communities of five Payams of Rumbek Central County to stay calm and collaborate with the investigating team.

The official asked chiefs and intellectuals to solve their differences.

Mr Akech appealed for a collective effort to end hostilities.

He invited MPs, chiefs and intellectuals to join hands to build peace.

The fact-finding committee is comprised of local chiefs, government officials, youths from the cattle camps and religious leaders.
