Representatives of the Lou Nuer community at the National Legislative Assembly and the Council of States have alerted the Government and the Jonglei Peace Committee about preparations for a rebel attack in the area.
Lou Nuer Council Chairman Gabriel Yoal Dok told the press that forces loyal to rebel leader David Yau Yau were regrouping to attack Akobo and Bor.He said the MPs did not want the resumption of an all-out conflict in the state.
Mr Yoal alerted that if Yau Yau’s forces attacked the Lou Nuer and Dinka Bor communalities it would be a disaster.
He said people were disarmed and they would not be able to defend themselves.
Mr Yoal was talking to the press on Thursday in Juba.
