The Lakes State SPLM chairman has condemned the inter-communal clashes that startedÊ on Tuesday between Rup and Kuei communities of Rumbek.
Daniel Awet Akot who is in the state for thirteen days paid condolences to the citizens who lost their relatives and appealed for calm in the state especially Rumbek Centre county.Mr Awet appealed to the state government, its Assembly and citizens to embrace peace and reconciliation.
He also called on the judiciary not to delay court cases to avoid heightening tensions among the people.
The communal fighting has calmed down and the number of deaths has not been confirmed so far.
