The fistula campaign at Wau teaching hospital has left out 23 patients unoperated due to former unsuccessful surgical attempts.

Dr. Bakhit Mawien Upur, a Gynaecologist at Wau Teaching Hospital, revealed that the 23 patients could not be operated at the moment because their operations needed three doctors at the same time.

He said the patients had earlier undergone more than one unsuccessful operation which requires more attention, Voice of Hope Radio reported.

He said the 23 patients left out would be operated after arrangements are made in the future.

Dr. Mawien asserted that the results of 47 operations will be confirmed after two weeks.

He said so far the four operations carried the first day have been proved successful.

The two weeks’ surgical campaign was launched last month and operated 40 fistula patients of the targeted hundred patients.
