The County Commissioner of Morobo County in Central Equatoria decided to make a surprise visit to the local health centre leaving the staff in panic.
Moses Simon Soro made the visit to the Morobo County Primary Health Centre to check on the real situation of the department, the county press secretary told CRN via e-mail.The commissioner found that the medical officer was absent and many patients were waiting for the health staff to attend them.
Mr Soro said he would like to make sure that the general staff respected working hours and did their work for the development of the country.
Nurse Simon Malish said the centre was short of trained personnel to attend patients and the laboratory had only one trained specialist.
He added that the health centre did not have enough cleaners.
