EDUCATION MINISTER CONDEMNS EXAMINATION CHEATING

Eastern Equatoria Education Minister has condemned the practice of cheating during examinations in the state.

Minister Michael Lopuke Lotyam made the censure on Wednesday while addressing the press the release of South Sudan Certificate Examination results of two Secondary schools that were blocked over suspected cheating, Radio Emmanuel reported.

Results for Chukudum Progressive and Chukudum Secondary Schools were investigated because a number of students got the same questions right and wrong.

In the end all students got their results, including those suspected of cheating.

Mr Lopuke said National Ministry of Education recommended that the officials who supervised examinations in the two affected schools should be punished.

He said cheating at examinations weakened the standards of education in the country.
